05 Nov Assessment of Spanish infrastructure companies – Davos Competitiveness Report
By Julio Gómez Pomar – Secret.State Infrastructures
“The Spanish transport infrastructures have an extension and quality that places them, in the opinion of different international institutions, among those of the first countries of the world. The Davos Global Competitiveness Report for the biennium 2015-2016 gives them the sixth position on a world scale behind Japan and ahead of France, Germany and the USA. For its part, the European Commission corroborates this assessment by assigning our infrastructures the first positions among those of the countries of the European Union.
At the national level, the private sector continues to play a preeminent role in the current model of public-private collaboration.
It is a challenge to apply the new technologies to infrastructure and transport management to achieve sustainable mobility, as well as to implement an infrastructure for alternative fuels that reduces dependence on fossil fuels, minimizing greenhouse gas emissions”.
